On June 6th, Ph.D. students of the ArmEn project Francesca Cheli and Leonardo Squilloni, in collaboration with the Padus-Araxes association and the SAGAS Department of the University of Florence, organized the 26th Seminar of Armenian Studies, dedicated to supporting young Italian researchers specializing in Armenian studies in Italy and encouraging the dissemination of their research results.
The event began with institutional greetings from Archbishop Boghos Levon Zekiyan, president of the Padus-Araxes association, followed by a lectio magistralis delivered by Don Riccardo Pane on the importance of the theological approach in the study of Armenian sources.
Throughout the day, presentations from emerging scholars covered a diverse range of topics, including patristics, medieval Armenian architecture and archaeology, and contemporary Armenian history.
Francesca Cheli and Leonardo Squilloni who presented their research carried out within the ArmEn project with talks titled: Ani e le rotte euroasiatiche tra IX e XI secolo: ceramiche cinesi dal palazzo bagratide (Ani and the Eurasian Routes between the 9th and 11th Century: Chinese Ceramics from the Bagratid Palace) and Continuità e trasformazione nell’uso dello spazio urbano a Dvin tra IX e XIII secolo (Continuity and Transformation in the Use of Urban Space in Dvin between the 9th and 13th Century), respectively.
